The Southwesterner was a company magazine published by Southwestern Public Service Company (SPS), which now called Xcel Energy. It highlighted new projects, congratulated exemplary service, and shared news about the electrification of the Texas Panhandle. In this newsletter are employee profiles, photographs of electrical infrastructure, editorials, and many photographs of SPS employees hard at work. The physical version of this collection is located at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum Research Center, and it was digitized in partnership with the Center for the Study of the American West (CSAW.) This collection is incomplete. As of April 2025, this collection contains 1944-1984.
