Important Journals
These two journals are the most commonly used research resources for music therapists and music therapy students. There are occasionally articles about music therapy published through other journals, however, because music therapy has such a wide application.
- Journal of Music TherapyA vast number of peer reviewed journals through Oxford University Press and the American Music Therapy Association. Articles found here directly relate to common coursework in the music therapy program.

Back volumes for 2,890 journals from the very first issue but usually excluding the most current 2-5 years, though almost 100 with coverage through the most recent issue. Provides cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts of articles about music, musicians and the music industry for more than 600 periodicals and selective coverage for more than 200 periodicals. - Oxford Music Online / Grove Music Online This link opens in a new windowGrove Music Online is built from a print source published since 1878 and its sibling publications, plus hundreds of articles commissioned specifically for the online edition, and is presented on the Oxford Music Online platform. Grove Music Online offers over 57,000 articles written by over 9,000 music scholars.
Terms searched in Grove Music Online can then also be easily searched in the Oxford Dictionary of Music and The Oxford Companion to Music, with links off to the articles in those sources on the Oxford Reference platform. - EBSCO Search This link opens in a new window

Not one database but over a dozen different databases on the EBSCOhost platform, covering a wide array of topics and sources, combined here to search them all at once.
Great for business, economics, nursing, health sciences, communication, education, literary studies, music, psychology, public administration, social work, and sports & exercise sciences.
Not as great for history, natural and applied sciences, the arts, philosophy, sociology, or magazines/newspapers. - Films on Demand This link opens in a new windowA streaming video platform that enables access to thousands of films from such providers as PBS, National Geographic, NOVA, Ken Burns, BBC, Frontline, ABC, CBC, NBC, TED, Bill Moyers, the American Museum of Natural History, and many more.
Interlibrary Loan
Found or need information (e.g. articles, books, etc.) that we don't have access to? You can get it via Interlibrary Loan Details (ILL).

- Most articles are emailed within 1-2 weeks. Books may take longer.
WTAMU students, faculty, staff, and Friends of Cornette Library (Supporting level and above) can use Interlibrary Loan (ILL) to borrow research materials from the collections of other libraries.
