Region 16 is the Education Service Center for the Texas Panhandle and on July 15th & 16th this support system will host their Curriculum Connect Conference at West Texas A&M.

Bruce Wardlow will be presenting, You Can’t Neglect the Air Resistance of a Book: A Problem-Solving Framework for Promoting Teacher-Librarian Collaboration in Grades 6-12 Science Disciplines. At his presentation, Wardlow will discuss, "The reality is that few science teachers at the Grades 6-12 level integrate the library into their curriculum, but not for the lack of either party trying. If you are a science teacher who wants to involve the library, or if you are a librarian who wants to collaborate more with your science teachers, this presentation is all about identifying the problems that you have likely encountered, and providing a framework that you can use to have the difficult conversations and solve those problems." And will, "examine each of these aspects and provide implementable solutions using practical, TEKS-based assignments as examples. This presentation is for science teachers, librarians, and the instructional coaches and administrators that support them."

Cormette Librarians will have a table at the vendor hall providing the opportunity to connect with teachers in our region throughout the two-day conference.
