Cornette Library at a Glance

Welcome to the Cornette Library! Whether you are visiting us in person or virtually, we're glad you're here. This guide will introduce you to library resources and services to help you succeed in the MSN program.

Have a question? Reach out to a librarian by phone, email, text or chat so we can help you as soon as possible. For general questions about the library and research:

  • Phone:  Call the Research & Access desk at (806) 651-2215 during regular library hours.
  • Text:  Text a librarian at (806) 994-4427 during regular library hours.
  • Email:  You can submit a ticket to the library using our Email a Librarian feature at any time. We will respond as soon as possible, usually within 1 business day.
  • Real Time Chat:  Access our 24/7 live chat assistance with a librarian by clicking on the small green box/speech bubble located at the bottom right of library webpages and our online catalog.

For one-on-one research help, you can make an appointment with a librarian. The research appointment can be either in-person or virtual (via WebEx or Zoom).

Your research will usually begin by searching the library's online catalog.

  • You can use our research databases to find articles. If you are searching databases from off-campus, you'll need your WTAMU username and password to login through Single Sign-On. The Nursing and Health Databases tab on this guide lists databases especially useful for nursing and family nurse practitioners.
  • For information about citing sources, click here.
  • An important part of research is honesty and integrity. Plagiarism is a violation of academic honesty. Plagiarism also violates the WT Student Code of Conduct and the Academic Integrity Code. The Plagiarism and Academic Integrity section of this guide has tips and resources on how to avoid plagiarism. The WT University Writing Center can help you with the writing process and provide feedback on your paper.

If you need a book or article that we don't have, you can get it via Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

  • Request a book or article. If you haven't used our Interlibrary Loan service before, you will be asked to agree to a copyright statement and then fill in a short registration form.
  • Most articles are emailed within 1-2 weeks. Books may take longer.

Discover: Articles, Books, and More

You can search for articles, books, streaming videos, journals, and more by using our Discover search available below. This search is also available on the Cornette Library homepage. The default search for this particular search box is searching just our online catalog.
