August OER Update

We have lots of great things happening on the OER front.

Open Texas, a conference celebrating all things OER, is hosted by Texas Digital Libraries, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and the Digital Higher Education Consortium of Texas. These organizations are inviting you to register for the conference. The conference will be held September 21-23. In the most on-brand move I've ever seen, the conference is FREE; all you've got to do is register. We hope to see you there.

We've added a few more features to the OER Guide. First and foremost, we've added a section to the first page of the guide highlighting the uses of OER at WT. Here you can check out who's using OER around campus.

We've also added the ability for you to search for OER by college. So now you can look for OER resources that specifically pertain to what you're teaching.

The last addition we made to the OER guide is a page with various podcast episodes detailing several pieces of the OER puzzle. So if you're interested in learning more about OER, this is a great place to start.

The last thing we wanted to make you aware of this month is the OER Working Group will be meeting again Friday, August 12th, at 9 am in the library’s lecture room. We invite you to join us to know more and meet our new OER Librarian Bruce Wardlow.
